Goodbye 2CL, a final house tour..

March 21, 2016

It's official, we're moving tomorrow!! {remember this post right back in November when our offer first got accepted?!} An end of an era, our 2CL, so so many memories and happy times and a whole whole lot of love for this house.
And when I look back, we've done so much to it. I can't believe how it looked when we first laid eyes on it. That first viewing back in 2012 when we knew there was no other house. The weeks, the months of building work and transformations. The time since it's all been finished, soaking it all up and enjoying every second. Gardening all Spring for long lazy summers sat in my deck chair, bbqs under our string lights, having the bifold doors wide open. As well as cosy evenings in, shutting the shutters and lighting a fire. Living so close to a church and hearing the church bells every Wednesday night and Sunday morning. Our lovely neighbours, the way that the sunlight literally fills every inch of the house that sometimes I'd think we'd left the lights on. So many dinners with friends, birthdays, planning our wedding, coming home after our honeymoon and being carried over the threshold. The magazine features and the blog articles. Over a hundred years old and still such a classic Victorian terrace. 2CL we owe you a lot. And sad we so are to leave you. I know that the new owners are excited and that you'll host goodness knows how many more couples in the future, families even. We'll still walk past a few days a week I'd expect on the way to the allotment, trying to peek in to see how much things will change. But onwards and upwards, we always knew it wouldn't be our forever home and it would have been foolish not to go for our dream house before children come along and while we still have the energy to undertake a huge renovation. So I won't be sad, I'll be thankful. We'll always have these photos and the memories. One last hugee post on it as we say goodbye, a tonne of photos and all the links to the renovation posts below:

  7. Hi there, I am planning on doing the exact same thing above my range cooker as you did in this kitchen, with the fake chimney and shelf etc, but I haven't yet researched into how to do the extractor fan or which one to get - please can you shed some light? Does it have to be on an external wall, as ours isn't!?

    Thank you

    1. Hi Hannah, so sorry for my late reply. Am I took late?? The extractor we had was just a bathroom extractor kit fitted inside that went outside. It would have to be an external wall, if not you'd have to box in but it would need to get to an outside wall for building regs etc xx
