Travel // Beaches Turks & Caicos
January 20, 2018
January has turned into a bit of a beach fest! And I'm certainly not complaining. We were meant to visit Beaches in the Turks and Caicos in November as part of a press trip for both here and over on So You're Getting Married for the honeymoon section. But a week after it was arranged Hurricane Irma hit and closed the resort for three months. So our trip got rescheduled to January which was amazing as I always feel a little blue after New Year, but it was just a week before our long standing Australia trip! Hence why it's a bit of a crazy month with just one week at home to play catch up. I've written a full honeymoon review over on So You're Getting Married here won't repeat myself about the ins and outs of the resort. Basically, we fell head over heels in love with it. The relaxed, fun yet totally luxurious vibe, the world's best beach, the all inclusive aspect, the different villages, the way it was so huge that we felt like we undid all of the eating each day, the early morning beach walks, the sunsets, cafe De Paris, the Jerk Shack on the beach, the pink skies, the Americans, the island vibes. Seriously, it was one of the happiest weeks of my life. I wanted to share my most favourite photos with more of a personal angle to look back on here if you'd like to see.
Flying into the Turks & Caicos Islands. Via a quick stop in Antigua.
That palm and sand-dune lined beach.
Blue skies and bougainvillea.
These colours. And wearing pretty dresses rather than a million layers again!
We bought a polaroid camera before our trip and this was the first photo we took with it.
Tiles, hats, baskets and hibiscus flowers all day long please.
Hibiscus {and last year's dress}
The most beautiful clear sea.
Pretty buildings and all the palm leaves.
This guy.
That feeling when your feet hit the sand and waves for the first time in a while.
Had to keep taking a million photos of the ocean to check what I was seeing was real...
Yep.
We love to walk so we'd go out after breakfast every morning combing the beach and watching the boats. It was such a dream to feel the warm sunshine rather than our usual muddy cold field walks at this time of year.
Ben got this book for Christmas, he wanted to read the kindle version so I took this in my suitcase and OH MY GOSH it was the best book we've ever ever read. We both devoured it in about 2 days. I didn't want it to finish.
The view from breakfast.
Blending in.
Dress online here. {in the sale!}
Beachy boat trip kind of morning.
It wouldn't be a trip without a hand heart photo. I particularly like the shadow in this.
Barefoot for practically the whole week.
Forever seeking Instagram walls.
A vintage VW camper van was installed during our stay with frozen yogurt! I was in heaven.
Pink palm skies.
And the bluest sea.
The most fun, indulgent, relaxing week I think we've ever had. We miss you already Beaches!! And I especially miss that beach and those chocolate chip cookies, sweet potato fries and white chocolate eclairs already.
You can find more on Beaches Turks & Caicos here. I recommend it to seriously everybody, whether you're a couple, a family with small children, with big children, with grandparents or an older couple. I challenge anybody not to love this place. And I never normally say that.
