We did it!! Hello new house, I think I need to name 'her'? Create a hashtag or something for all the renovations? We're exhausted after yesterdays move and both a bit under the weather but today we started ripping out built in wardrobes, the bathroom, stripping wallpaper and ripping out carpets {to reveal gorgeous original floorboards underneath yay!}. Absolutely everything needs renovating and updating. It's not awful by any means but a lot of the character is hiding right now which we want to restore in {some serious} style. It was built back in the 1700s and the people we bought from have been there for the past forty years. This is just a very quick post from me right now to let you have a nose at the photos before we start {I ran in and snapped these before the removal men started unloading} but I'll be back soon to talk about our plans for it all as well as some progress photos, it looks so different already! Thank you also for all your lovely lovely messages. R <3 xx

It's official, we're moving tomorrow!! {remember this post right back in November when our offer first got accepted?!} An end of an era, our 2CL, so so many memories and happy times and a whole whole lot of love for this house.

{Just don't smash the Dundees or Diptyques. The packing is underway} |
Wow, what a week. Compared to my last post where we couldn't have been more stressed out, things got a lot lot worse when our lender pulled out on Saturday {right before we were meant to exchange!}. Cue a ridiculously horrible weekend with my incredible, incredible parents who managed to sort everything out. By Sunday night we were feeling ok about the financial side of things but on Monday it was another whirlwind with the top of the chain still threatening to pull out because the bottom of our chain weren't going to be ready in time..

Bit of a later edit of my usual Friday post today. Yesterday was so seriously stressful I couldn't bear to stay home, I just had to keep myself out and busy! Yep, we still haven't exchanged. A ridiculous week with over 23 phone calls most days to solicitors and estate agents. Living in limbo land goes on! I had a kind of anxiety attack about the whole thing last night, I think it all just caught up with me. I can't even bear to talk about it right now {what will be will be etc} so let's discuss about some nicer things instead? Because now it's the weekend!

{Last year's pickings, a bucket like this once every few days!} |
Around this time last year, I wrote this post on creating a mini cutting garden using just a few packets of seeds and some compost. We have both our garden {posts here and here} and the allotment {posts here and here} to utilise for a cutting garden, although this year with moving I think we'll be planting most seeds at the allotment until we've sorted the new garden out! Over the last couple of weekends we've started sorting out all of our packets of seeds {top tip, at the end of summer buy up all the garden centres reduced seeds, all of ours were just 50p per pack, even the Sarah Raven pretties!} and have started planting. This year..

Hey there Friday! In some ways it's felt like you've been a long time coming this week but in others the days have just zoomed by and I've struggled to find the time to breathe!! Have you've had a good week? A little weekly round up below..

One of our favourite places to go for a weekend wander is Richmond. We whizz down the M25 on a Saturday or Sunday morning and head to Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park where you can park for free. You get all the London benefits like good shopping, a lively town, burritos, sushi, a Wholefoods Store, even red buses! But without going into the actual city. It's a beautiful place with the Thames running through and an abundance of green space. Kew Gardens is just down the road {see this post from last Spring and an autumn visit here}. If we didn't have family and friends here in Hertfordshire we always say how lovely it would be to live down that way. Anyway, it's a beautiful place to visit and we can never resist stopping at Petersham Nurseries whilst we're down that way
