When doing up our house and planning our extension, I had purposefully left a wall spare to display our wedding photos after we got married. I hadn't decided how I was going to do it to start with, waiting to get all our photos back from Binky our photographer. But as soon as we received them, I couldn't wait to choose some to put up on display.

You're very privileged to have one of my biggest dinner party secret recipes. Souffle's are similar to a lightly baked fluffy cake that should puff up when cooked. It's a combination of a flavoured base combined with egg whites, the base provides the flavour and the egg whites give the lift. They are notoriously hard to make so you'll impress by serving this dessert. The big secret is that this recipe is fool-proof and if you follow the instructions, you'll have perfectly risen delicious souffles every time.

I think one of the first things I did when we were officially engaged was email Binky Nixon, our wedding photographer to get booked in the diary. My Mum had shown me some photos of a family friend's wedding a good few years back, before we were even thinking about getting married, that were taken by Binky and we both fell in love with her work. We followed her blog, facebook and instagram ever since swooning at each new wedding or engagement shoot. So I was so so excited when we could get our time in front of Binky's camera.
{apologies to those who read this last week, a technical error meant it got published earlier than scheduled}

{Garden pickings, summer's not over just yet} |
Happy Weekend! Hope you've had a good week and are still enjoying the blog.
I was all ready for autumn after our last week of summer on holiday in Cornwall last week but it seems we're hanging on to the sunshine for a bit longer. {I'm not complaining as I know we've probably got months of cold wet weather ahead}.
Have you got anything nice planned for the weekend? I'm rushing around cooking and cleaning today as we've got 13 for dinner on Sunday. I'm out with the girls this evening and going to an old friend's wedding tomorrow. We've known each other since we were tiny bubbas.
Have a good one and I've got some exciting posts for the blog lined up for next week talking about when Ideal Home magazine shot our house, our stay at The Pig Hotel last week and choosing a wedding photographer with photos from our engagement shoot.

I always find that if you go out for a Sunday Roast they will either be really fantastic or so overcrowded and disappointing that you wish you'd stayed at home and cooked. We've been lucky recently and discovered a couple of amazing pubs that no matter how busy, you will have one of the best roast dinners with the biggest yorkshire pudding you've ever seen. And you'll be so glad you went out for a roast instead of slaving over a roast all afternoon then washing up pans for days {even with a dishwasher!}. First up is the Alford Arms in Frithsden, Hertfordshire that's in the Top 20 Gastropubs in the UK and won Hertfordshire's Dining Pub of the Year 2014 award in the Good Pub Guide.

My Mum's garden is full of gorgeous David Austin roses and last summer, seeing lots of petals on the ground we decided to start drying them as confetti for our wedding this year. I've always loved confetti in wedding photos.

Our bedroom, similar to the lounge, didn't need any major renovations but has benefitted from restyling and designing and making built in wardrobes to hold my ever growing collection of floral tops and dresses. Again, like the lounge, we couldn't wait to rip up the red carpets and get painting over the yellow walls.

September signifies the end of summer and a move into Autumn. Food wise this means a move from weekend BBQs and summer pavlovas into Sunday roasts, crumbles and sticky toffee puddings. One of my all time favourites is an apple crumble and at the moment there are an abundance of plums and blackberries to add in too. We're lucky enough to have an old apple tree in our garden which produces lots of fruit. We've also just planted a mixture of fruit trees at our allotment so next year we should have it coming out of ears.

If I hadn't have called the blog after my love of flowers and roll top baths, bunting would definitely have been a contender for it's name. Bunting and Rolltops just doesn't have quite the same ring about it.. Bunting for me is so cheery, it comes out for every celebration at home and you always know you're in a charming English town or village when you see flags strung across the streets. Marlow, in Buckinghamshire is one of our favourite places for a day out. It's nice year round but is especially good in the Summer when you can walk along the river and watch the boats in the sunshine with a picnic.

With the venue and date set, I couldn't wait to start wedding dress shopping! Back in the summer of 2012, a whole 2 years before our wedding I started visiting boutiques with my Mum and bridesmaids. Everywhere I went told me the same thing, that it would be a risk to buy something now in case I changed my mind in a year's time. But I know that when I find and like something, I stick with it. I wanted to be super organised as I knew I'd be busy with my law degree the following year and wanted everything to be stress free. Also I wanted an insurance of extra time in case I couldn't find anything I liked that season I still had a chance to look again next summer.

What do you do you get when you need a big dining table, don't want to spend a fortune and have a creative husband? A table made out of scaffold boards and singer sewing machine stands, that's what.

We'd wanted to visit to the Hand and Flowers in Marlow, Buckinghamshire for a while now but the long waiting list had put us off. Book 9 months in advance just for a lunch, a year for dinner? How good would it be anyway? But after hearing so many good reviews I took the plunge and made a surprise booking for us to go for lunch on Ben's birthday a couple of weeks ago. It was well worth the wait. So before I go any further, get on the phone or online now and book in for whenever you can next get a table because we had some of the best food we've ever tasted.

Hitchin or Provence? This was our second summer visiting the Hitchin Lavender Farm in Ickleford, Hertfordshire and I think I loved it even more this time. We went on a bright blue sky hot sunny day at the start of August and the lavender was at its peak, bright purple against the blue sky and smelling heavenly. Pick a path to walk up along with hundreds of buzzy bees and butterflies going crazy for the lavender.

Santorini, also known as heaven on earth. I think I'm going to have to split this post into two I've got so many photos to share and things to say about this Greek Island famous for whitewashed villages built into the cliffs overlooking the caldera and magical sunsets. I had been desperate to go ever since I'd seen photos on blogs and Pinterest a few years back so in Autumn last year we booked up a trip for this May just gone and had such an incredible few days away.

The lounge was one of the first rooms that we set to work on and a fairly easy transformation compared to some parts of the house. You can see from the before photos below that it was in need of redecorating with the yucky yellow walls and red carpet. We couldn't wait to get the keys and rip all the old light fittings and curtains down.
