Happy Weekend! Although er, it's Sunday night already. This week has been a blur and I normally write these posts on a Friday but it's all just been so busy. Trying to get work finished before we go away on Wednesday, trying to sort the extension out with lots of exciting developments - the doors getting fitted and the floor being screeded {side note, I hit a wall with all the decisions and stress on Friday, it's definitely all consuming but since then I'm back to loving it again and hopefully feeling more on top of it all} along with organising Mother's Day and my Birthday it's been a busy busy few days! But, Spring has well and truly sprung. The clocks have changed, British summertime is here. There's blossom everywhere and it all just feels so good again. In the past week though I've been reminded twice how life can change so suddenly within the blink of an eye, one being the tragic Westminster Bridge incident. So I'm determined more than ever to appreciate every little moment. More below, and a photo catch up. I hope you've had a lovely weekend??

I LOVE this time of year for the garden waking up. Seeds are sprouting, the perennials are pushing through the soil and seem to be growing by the day. It's slowly getting warmer and sunnier {followed it seems by pouring rain and wind after each sunny day when we feel like Spring has arrived properly} and it feels like we're inching ever closer to BBQ season and days when you can just lay on the grass amongst the flowers. I get requests a lot for garden posts so I thought I'd share an update of some things we've done recently to get ready for the new season.

The Grove is one of my favourite hotels, not far from us it's the place that we go to for special Birthdays, family Christmas dinners or anniversary's over the years. It's beautiful in the summer as well as all sparkly and festive at Christmas. Up until last week though I'd never stayed there before so it was such a treat to spend an indulgent Sunday there and escape our building work! We swam, we ate the world, we had spa treatments and really switched off. I'd love to share some photos and my adapted SYGM honeymoon review below..

Happy Friday!! A very quick post from me today as I wanted to get this up before the weekend and before Ben finishes work {his commute is currently from inside our house to the kitchen extension ha}. This week has been crazy for us both and tonight is our first normal night in together since last Thursday! But onwards and upwards, the kitchen has come on so much this week. A photo diary below..

Choosing paint colours when renovating/decorating is probably one of the most fun parts to put your stamp on a place. But it can also be one of the hardest if you're indecisive like me. The walls are a pretty fundamental part of your room/house and the colour on them can really change the whole feel and mood of your whole abode not to mention thinking about things like the aspect of a room or the way that it will complement other colours/furniture or the flow of other rooms. You're going to be living with them, and whilst they can of course be changed with a new tin of paint and a brush, it's not something you want to keep redoing {nor that quick or cheap} so it's best to try and get it right first time. But this can feel so so hard when you have a blank canvas ahead of you. Or in our case, choosing colours for the new kitchen before we even had the space built. There are so many factors to consider so today I'd love to share some tips I've learned along the renovating road and some from an afternoon with Farrow & Ball last week..

Happy Friday! This week has flown by and I'm wondering where this year is going to already. In my head it's still the end of January?? Which is a nice surprise when you can gradually start wearing less layers and see things budding up and starting to bloom as Spring arrives. I've also realised that I haven't blogged much over the past couple of weeks. The building project is really progressing day by day but it also takes up so much of my time along with life and work projects. Decisions on lighting, decisions on where to put switches, making the roofers coffee, arranging site visits for suppliers, the list goes on. But yay for the weekend. Some photos, a little catch up and thoughts from the past couple of weeks below;
