{Flowers from my baby Bro, such a big bunch of pretties} |
I always feel a little guilty when I get to a Friday to write this post and realise that I haven't posted anything since last weekend. Sorry y'all but I promise there will be a big overhaul of this blog next year with the new house. Here's what I've been doing instead of blogging this week - I went to my Nephew's 2nd Birthday party, I saw Spectre at The Rex cinema {v v good by the way}, 3 pilates classes, the usual running/dog walks, attended an event for So You're Getting Married, went to view the new house again to measure up for a few bits so we can start the new plans, tidied and cleaned our house top to bottom ready for viewings on an open day tomorrow, had a family dinner party last night and today got the Christmas Tree! Chuck in some admin, emails and work into the mix too. And looking after my poorly husband, he'll only get a cold once a year but when he does you sure know about it. So that's me! How about you?? And yes it's not even December yet for the Christmas tree but when you get them cut down fresh they last for weeks and weeks. This weekend marks the start of all things Merry and Bright, tomorrow my Mumma and I are off to make a Christmas wreath which is handy to avoid all these people coming to view our house {which I feel super weird about} and then it's operation decorate! My friend Sophie is hosting a dinner party tomorrow night and I can't wait for a girly evening. Sunday I think will be chilled out just decorating the tree and I really want some time to sit on my ipad and see what good Black Friday deals there are to be had! Hope you have a lovely weekend, I'll start some Christmassy blog posts soon.

'A house is made of bricks and beams, a house is made of love and dreams!'
Oh, our beloved house... it's been a tough tough couple of weeks trying to decide what to do for the best. Let me tell you from the start!

I've featured our loft room before {here}. It always had a photo wall above the desk but recently I replaced all the big photos with instagram prints instead. I love the little squares with their white borders and the fact that they're all the same orientation now compared to the mismatch before. It feels fresher in there. A few of you have asked how it was done so I thought I'd share a little DIY on it.

I've been a bad blogger recently. I don't really know what happened, just lost my way with it a bit. I didn't even write a weekend post on Friday! Been a bit pre-occupied {post on that coming soon}, I've still posting lots of insta but just haven't sat down with my laptop in what feels like forever. But here I am, checking in with some photos from a recent stay in The Cotswolds. The full post is on So You're Getting Married with a little guide I've written to the Cotswolds but as always I wanted to share some photos on here to look back on. Autumn leaves, doortraits, Daylesford and the like. It was heaven.

Last week I attended an autumn wreath making workshop {for work! I know right...} for So You're Getting Married and I can't stop looking at it. I mean, wreaths are technically for Christmas I think but who's to say you can't have one to pretty up your door year each season? I think this will have to become an annual thing.

{Heavenly hydrangeas at Columbia Road last weekend} |
Happy Friday. Ugh Bonfire night was a washout last night. This whole week has just been covered in fog, mist, grey clouds and rain. But we still did sparklers in the garden and went to a mini bonfire on Wednesday night, it's an annual tradition in Ben's family. I say it every week but this week really has flown by. I said to myself that I wouldn't start thinking about Christmas until after Bonfire night, I'm normally so much more organised than this and would have done all my shopping by now in previous years. Now it is after bonfire night so I'd better get started! {Oh and claxon! John Lewis Christmas ad is out!!!}
What do you have planned for this weekend? We're hosting a dinner party tonight so I'm getting the house ready and cooking {chicken stuffed with pesto and mozarella wrapped in parma ham. A classic that never gets old. Although I'm cheating and buying puds instead of making one}. Tomorrow we're hoping it's second time lucky to see fireworks without the rain, fingers crossed! And then on Sunday we're escaping to The Cotswolds for a night away, there's a hotel to review for SYGM which I'm really looking forward to. Hope you have a lovely one! R <3 xx

{Remember remember the fifth of november}
Happy Guy Fawkes Night! Are you off to see any fireworks? We went to a family bonfire last night, it's an annual tradition. And tonight we're planning to go and see the fireworks although the forecast looks like pouring rain. Might have to be a display on Saturday instead! The blog is over a year old now and some things remain constant like baking this gingerbread traybake every year for the 5th November. As such, I blogged about it last year. I made it again yesterday and some of you on Instagram requested the recipe. So I'll send you to last year's post here. It's a classic and your house will smell all treacly for the rest of the day after you've baked it. I got the gold star sprinkles from Sainsbury's to go on top. Enjoy the pretty fireworks, sparklers and toffee apples! A magical time of year.
p.s This tells you all you ever wanted to know about Bonfire night.

It's been a while since a proper Makeover Monday post! But finally I've put together a post on our hallway from start to finish. I can't believe we've lived in this house for over three years already now. Looking back at the old photos again feels like it was a lifetime ago. But at the same time it's flown by too. Funny how time and life goes by!
