I feel that house plants are one of the easiest way to add some personality to your home. Not only do they add some greenery and interest to neutral schemes but they purify the air and if you're like us, you can become really attached to them {and definitely get a bit too excited when you see new leaves growing!}. With this extra warm summer, ours have all been growing at a rate of knots. We always feel a pang of envy when we visit hot countries and see our favourite plants living outside {!} and practically like trees. Oh, to have plants that big or that climate. I share photos of all of my plant babies in the bath when it's watering time, and always get a flood of questions about looking after plants so I thought I'd share a little blog post on our favourite types and some FAQs...

You may think I'm mad, or a complete domestic bore, but I've been dreaming of having new wardrobes since we moved into this house! If you haven't been following me on Instagram stories over the past few weeks then I guess you haven't seen my whole journey of sorting, getting organised and put away into our new finished bedroom! I know, I know, total first world problems but I am my Mother's Daughter and getting organised just sparks so much joy and calm for me. Since we moved in, my clothes have been spread between our current bedroom, the spare room and a trunk on our upstairs landing. Since we started renovating the new bedroom, I haven't had access to the little spare room as it's been filled with junk, so trying to find any clothes has been a hard task. I always dreamed of the day that I could get everything organised and put away, out of the trunk of doom which is impossible to find anything in and into neat, sections where I'd know where everything is. On hangers so I can see what I own and so it's not full of creases from the bottom of a pile. It's been a mammoth project, emptying out everything and having a huge clear out. Some of the drawers I hadn't been able to open for about a year or so. It's made me get rid of anything that I won't wear, give 2 huge sack bags to the charity shop, stick a load of stuff onto my Instagram for sale page to sell, and then reorganise what I do want to keep {still an awful lot} and section it.

As well as antique market and car boot scouring, over the years we've made many an eBay pilgrimage. Driving all over the country to pick up furniture for the house at crazy low prices. I can remember driving through the Cotswolds to pick up a rolltop bath from a farm for our first bathroom, one from Kent for our new house {it was the first item we bought, 6 months before we even exchanged but felt so excited. I can still remember now the new Coldplay and Beyonce song playing on the way home as we drove across the Dartford bridge talking about all the plans we had for our new abode}, a set of beautiful pine doors from South London for less than £10 each, the mustard chair from Dulwich for our snug that the guy was selling to move to Australia, cast iron fireplaces, vintage mirrors for gallery walls and table bases.
