Christmas // Decorating with The White Company*

November 02, 2018

this is a sponsored post.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Where did November creep up on us from? I'm suddenly getting so excited for Christmas now and decorating the house with that festive magic come December. I'm sure you know by now how much I adore The White Company, especially at this time of year. In fact, it was on a trip to Bath with my husband 9 years ago that we bought our very first Christmas decorations together before we even had a flat of our own to decorate, all wrapped and boxed beautifully by The White Company of course. By December though these days, most of the stock has flown on the shelves so I thought I'd get in early to show you some of the decorations I'm loving most this year...

Baubles //

I'm all about an elegant tree with a mix of glass and metallic baubles to glint in the fairy lights. Nothing beats that day when you decorate the tree, trying to work out if your baubles are evenly placed or not and trying to reach the top without it all toppling over. To me that just signifies the start of Christmas and brings so much joy. It's a tradition to buy new baubles each year and I'm especially loving The White Company's options this year.

There are these glass snowflake baubles, I really like clear glass against the green of the pine and they all have classy, soft velvet grey ribbon to hang them from.

For a celestial vibe, I had to get a couple of these silver crescent moons. I wear a moon necklace everyday now so thought they'd reflect that and again they have that gorgeous ribbon.

Along with this set of ceramic hearts. They come as a set of six etched with 'love, joy and love'. Pretty perfect messages for this time of year. They'd look equally as lovely on a tree or attached as gift wrapping.

I've mixed in these etched mercury baubles, in the two sizes for a bit of sparkle. And these mini star battery operated lights are perfect for adding a pretty glow to displays around the house. They're on a wire so are easy to wind around and subtle enough to blend in unlike thick green regular lights.

Mini tree //

I normally shy away from faux trees but couldn't resist this mini pre-lit Christmas tree which is just so cute in the galvanised tub {which I adore and always put our big real tree into one similar each year}. Being pre-lit means that it's even easier to move around the house, with just batteries in the bottom rather than a wire to plug in, and is perfect for a Christmassy display in addition to a big tree.

Adding some decorations brought it to life. I'm super impressed with the branches though, they look so real {and won't drop needles everywhere!}.

I love it as part of a Christmas mantle, or even in the kitchen next to the sink to add some festive cheer.

Nordic Stars //

If you're a long term follower, or fan of The White Company, then you may remember this Nordic star from last year? I had it hanging from these shutters then too. But this year it's been updated and is prettier than ever. There's also a mini version. It goes perfectly with the fairy lights.

The Kitchen //

It wouldn't be Christmas without The White Company's Winter candle burning and filling the house with that special scent. Nobody does it better. And it also compliments all of these home displays. This sink area might just be my favourite, and I'm tempted to leave all of this up right through until Christmas now. I've strung this paper star pom-pom garland {which comes as a set of 2} across the shelf above our sink, and added the mini Nordic star.

Garlands //

Every house needs a garland at this time of year. I've bought a couple from The White Company over the years for mantles or the stairs but this year's version is probably the best yet with sprigs of ivy, pine cones and pussy willow. It looks gorgeous, and all green, on it's own or you could wrap some little lights around it.

Did I mention that the Nordic star comes as a heart version this year too?! I, of course, couldn't resist.

I'm wondering if I could maybe just leave this up all year? But then again, I'd miss out on that joy of decorating each December.

The garland also works as a mantle feature. I've added these lights, again they're battery operated.

Wreaths //

And finally, it wouldn't be Christmas without a wreath. This heart shaped, frothy green ivy, pine & pussy willow wreath would look gorgeous inside or out and looks so natural.

Give me a heart and greenery any day please.
