Interiors // Refreshing our walls with Desenio* prints
May 15, 2018
I guess you must know by now how much I adore filling our walls with prints and gallery displays. It gives so much personality to a room and makes me feel so happy when I look at artwork. Whether it's photos of happy memories or evocative abstract artwork, I couldn't imagine our house without framed prints adorning at least one corner of every room. They add so much colour without you having to commit to bold paint colours that you might get tired of after a while. You may remember me talking about the Swedish brand Desenio {past posts here and here} that I've ordered from time and time again. So when Desenio asked if I'd like some help to decorate our new bedroom and bathroom, I of course said yes. You can see the prints that I've chosen, and find an exclusive discount code below.
At first I had a hard time choosing. I'm always drawn to botanicals {like all of these https://desenio.co.uk/en/ artiklar/posters-prints/ botanical/index.html} but then I've got lots of botanical prints already around the house. Should I go for a travel theme? Florals? Typography? There are so many ranges that I love. But then I realised that I should just go with a mix of what I love. Especially for something so personal as our bedroom and en-suite, we'll be the only ones looking at it.
In the end these are the prints that I chose;
Peonies https://desenio.co.uk/en/artiklar/peony-no2-poster.html
Pink Palms https://desenio.co.uk/en/artiklar/pink-sky-palm-trees-poster.html
Calligraphy Love https://desenio.co.uk/en/artiklar/love-note-poster.html
Pretty much my most favourite things right there, the pink palm trees to remind me of sunset holiday skies. The peonies, because well... peonies! My most favourite flower and a beautiful soft washed out pink. I framed both of these in the Desenio white frames {and have bought frames for most of our house from Desenio, I find them better - and cheaper - than Ikea these days}. I adore calligraphy, and the word love for so many reasons. So I chose a smaller version of this to fit into a small gold frame and then added one of my favourite polaroids of us from a trip to Barcelona last year.
We haven't quite finished the bathroom yet, these walls are actually just primed at the moment. But already adding some prints has made me feel like it's coming together. I've got a mirror which I want to add to this collection too to finish it off.
I love the fact that you can order so many different sizes of each print to fit in with your space. Sometimes, like in our kitchen, we have two large prints side by side. But other times, like in this smaller space, I like putting lots of little prints together as one big display. And if you're stuck for ideas, there are some really lovely inspiration areas of Desenio's website to look through here.
Once the walls are a soft light grey it should really set these off even more.
Also, I couldn't resist this print! I can't decide on a final home for it yet, I might add it to our snug with the dark walls. But I knew I had to have it somewhere with the botanicals, florals and a leopard. I've hung it in a poster hanger which I think can add a little more interest than a frame sometimes.
You can find more on Desenio's website https://desenio.co.uk/.
I've always been really pleased with the ease of their website, quick delivery and the quality of the prints. Their customer service team are super speedy at replies too, I was sent the wrong poster in one of my orders but a quick email later and they had sent the correct one out to me which arrived in a couple of days.
Their prices are already so reasonable but if you'd like an extra 25% off to get even more bang for your buck, you can use
The code “rvk_loves” gives 25% off posters* between May 15th and 17th.
*Except for frames and handpicked-/collaboration posters.

{This post is a paid collaboration with Desenio but as always I'd never promote any company that I didn't truly love and all opinions are 100% my own.}
