Musings // December So Far

December 13, 2017

You can tell it's almost Christmas when I can't seem to find the time to write my weekly musings posts! But my camera roll is getting full so I thought I'd share some photos from the past few weeks. Our Christmas and December so far, if you'd like to see.

The house is full of decorations! You can see this post for photos of getting our tree and decorating the house, part one. I really need to get part 2 up!

// Dinner date in Marlow

A really wintry evening in Marlow a couple of weeks back with a sunset river walk and dinner at one of our favourite restaurants all decked out in wreaths.

// Annual Christmas Shopping fair with my Mum

Every year my Mum and I visit a Christmas fair around the end of November. This year's was the Country Homes & Interiors show at Stonor Park. A fraction of the size of the London fairs we normally visit but in such a pretty setting.

Basically living in this outfit now it's December. Jumper online here. Skirt is old.

// Wreaths, wreaths and more wreaths;

You can see this post for my wreath making DIY guide. And this if you want some inspiration of where to buy one from.

// Wintry walks

Before the snow came! Will post snow photos soon.

// Not on the High Street Christmas event;

I had a fun morning with Not on the High Street last week, a brand I've loved for years so I was fan-girling their creative HQ. As quirky and fun as I'd expect it to be. We made succulent wreaths, drank hot chocolate, ate brownies and talked presents and wrapping.

This was their wrapping station!

// Sainsbury's Christmas Dinner

I've had a bit more time to attend blogger events recently and I'd forgotten just how much fun they can be. The Sainsbury's Home christmas dinner didn't disappoint and I finally got to meet some lovely instagrammers I've been talking to for ages.

// Joules S/S press breakfast at the dreamy new Petersham Nurseries store in Covent Garden

Likewise, the Joules Spring Summer press preview breakfast was such a treat. And on a freezing cold morning, amazing to sneak a peek at the season ahead and dream of beach bags and sunhats!

// London;

You can't beat London at Christmas for all the beautiful, inspiring decorations around the city.

Ben & I love to visit and this year we went up for our annual visit to Somerset House to watch the skaters, and visit Fortnum's Lodge for the best hot chocolates ever. Followed by a wander around Covent Garden and then Primrose Hill.

There's nothing I love more than seeing people, or cars, carrying trees in December. And this sweet scene in Primrose Hill gave me alll the feels.

// Evening with Santa at Liberty London

Then we visited again at night as Liberty kindly invited me to visit Santa's grotto and pick up a christmas stocking. I think I've mentioned how much I love Liberty before, my husband chose my engagement ring from their jewellery department and there's really no department store quite like it. So it was extra special to get to visit behind the scenes.

The lights on Regent's Street are my favourite this year.

// putting the tree up at Mum & Dads', a 14ft-er!

// food and family time

We started the first lot of Christmas eating a couple of weekends back with friends at my parent's for dinner, pudding and cheese. I haven't laughed so much in ages.

// cards and presents

Advent is extra special this year with the Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar. Discovering new beauty treats each day. So far I've actually found each one to be really useful too and something that I love. I expected some of it to not really be something I'd need/use.

I've been writing the odd card here and there over the past couple of weeks but this week I really need to just sit down and finish them along with getting the last few gifts and finishing the wrapping! With all the snow that we've had this weekend I'm waiting on the postman!

Wrapping paper, tags and ribbon online here.

I need to go and finish packing as we're off to The Cotswolds for a festive couple of days away tomorrow.

Back soon, R <3 xx
