December Musings // Our Christmas in Photos So Far

December 15, 2018

Less than 10 days until Christmas! Where has December gone? December for me is probably the most magical month of the year and steeped in festive traditions that we love to carry on. Time has really got away from me this year, partly to do with that announcement we made over the weekend!, but I really wanted to share some photos of our Christmassy time so far if you'd like to see...

// Choosing the tree! An annual tradition for my whole family, we've been going to this local farm for over 9 years now where you can pick your tree fresh from the field and then Martin, our very own Father Christmas Tree Grower cuts it down for you. We go at the end of November every year and it's always such a fun afternoon choosing one for both us and my parent's {which is always a 14ft beauty for their tall ceilinged barn conversion!}.

That first smell of pine for the season. THE best.

If only my Brother had been here, this could have been our Christmas card photo!

I keep thinking, all being well, next year we'll have a 6 month old baby here with us! Which will be beyond special.

De-netting time.

A naked tree.

Fairy light magic.

// Wreath Making with Jo Malone

hi thick hair from pregnancy!

Jo Malone invited me along to their townhouse for a morning of wreath making with Thomas Bloom. It was an incredible morning and I loved every second of it. Christmas plus Jo Malone plus wreath making = my idea of heaven.

I was the first one to tuck into this cake.

Everything was scented and every detail thought of. These flowers *heart eyes*.

My finished wreath, for our pink utility door.

// An early Christmassy date in Marlow, with dinner at the Ivy Marlow Garden {which made me feel so sick with pregnancy but was nice nonetheless!}

Decorating the house. And helping with Mum & Dad's tree.

An early morning trip to New Covent Garden Flower Market for supplies

Time to get creative.

I always love this afternoon with my Mum.

Meanwhile, the boys were having light wars with the tree.

We also made some Scandi hoop decorations for our kitchen display this year. My husband actually assembled these.

// Advent time! So in love with this Liberty Beauty calendar which is even better than last year.

// Christmas wrapping {full post here}

// A few Christmassy days spent in Boston, New England {full post here}

// Christmas in our favourite local market town.

// Our first scan day {!} and a wander around London decorated for Christmas.

will share more about this special day in my first trimester post in the new year.

Annual trip to Somerset House at Christmas.

// Finally, some frosty wintry mornings. So freezing but so beautiful.

// The start of the Christmas food shopping trips with my Mum. We're hosting 3 big gatherings, including Christmas day, at my parent's this year - I say we're, I mean my Mum & I mainly. So have started the prep early buying lots for the freezer. We love our trips to M&S and Costco.

Three of my favourite things right here - plus Pigs in Blankets.

// Lunch with special freelancer friends at Esther's in London.

// Cosy evenings in. Will share a full post with photos from our home decorated this Christmas.

// Cutest little visitor by the tree. Stanley <3

// Chilly walks with the pup

// A lunch date in Hampstead. Our favourite pizzas from L'antica and wreath watch.

// The big reveal <3

I hope you're having a wonderful December so far. We're off to the Cotswolds today for a pre-Christmas treat and a couple of nights away, it's a Christmas present to each other then next week I have two big Christmas dinners with different sets of girls which I can't wait for. Will be sure to share the photos from all of that soon, along with the rest of our Christmas over the next couple of weeks. I both can't wait until next weekend, when it all truly begins, and want it to go slowly in equal measure! Don't let it be January just yet, let's make December last forever.
