Happy Long Weekend...

May 01, 2015

{The return of the Cow Parsley, one of my favourites, popping up in the hedgerows. So pretty}
Happy Long Weekend! And Hello May, one of my favourite months of the year and what feels like the fusion between Spring and Summer. Also the month with two bank holidays! What have you got planned for your extra day off? There are two family birthdays this weekend including my Mum's so I'm on baking duties again and we'll be seeing family and friends. Ben and I are going to London tonight for a dinner date and a wander around Greenwich, we haven't been there in years. And we've got some garden and allotment plants to plant out {geraniums, cosmos, lobelia, pumpkins and courgettes} plus finish our packing. Mauritius will be here before we know it woo, counting down the days now! Did you have a good week? Some of this week's photos after the jump.

{Bluebell season. They smell heavenly and add some colour to the kitchen.
P.S. they're a protected species but these are out of the garden}
{Evening sunlight and pretty apple blossom. I love the light evenings for a walk to the allotment}
{Sunday stripes and sparkle. I've worn this necklace pretty much everyday this week. Good old Accessorise}
{Designated baker in the family and three birthdays within a week = lots of cake}
{The said cake. Yum. Can't beat Mary Berry}
{Hurry up flowers, so far only the apple blossom is in bloom. Can't wait for the rest of the pretty in a few weeks time}
{White and green. Cow parsley love. I like it's other name Queen Ann's Lace too}
{I've been adding more to my garden hashtag on Instagram}
{Cosy evening in amongst the rain last weekend}
{Another trip to the spectacular bluebell woods at Ashridge, this time with my Mumma and the pup}
{Our tree peony flowered in the garden! First time for the three years we've had it}
Thanks for your comments on my food post last week and the requests for recipes. There's quite a few to post so I'll try and do one every couple of weeks or something. Bear with me..

Enjoy your weekend, as always new posts up next week.

  1. Our long weekend happens 2 weeks from now. I hope the weather will be as lovely here then, as it has been there for you!
