London - The Chelsea Flower Show

May 30, 2017

It never ceases to amaze me at the fun opportunities in the blogging world. I was very lucky to be invited to the Chelsea Flower Show last week {one of my favourite summer events, remember this?} with Balance Me Beauty. It was a small blogger's event, just myself and the lovely Chloe Loves To Shop along with Amelia and Clem from Balance Me. You all know how much I love flowers and our garden so I was excited to get some new inspiration, plus Chelsea just comes alive for the event with all the shops decorating for Chelsea in Bloom which is a flower festival in itself. Lots of photos below if you'd like to see;

I decided to wear a floral appropriate dress {from Zara} and went to meet the others at the Ivy Chelsea Garden for afternoon tea {we were spoilt!}.

Basket online here. Can a girl ever have too many?

Balance Me had got in touch a couple of months previously to offer me some new skincare products. I hadn't heard of the brand before but when I discovered that the products are all over 99% natural and made in England then I was intrigued. I've been gradually trying to minimise chemicals and toxins in skincare, make-up and cleaning products. It's a gradual process but I hope that every little helps. It just doesn't feel right to be putting unnatural ingredients onto my face that will get absorbed into the body. I'm not scrupulous about it in all aspects but when there's an option of skincare that gets results whilst being derived from essential oils and botanicals then it's certainly worth trying. I've not tried everything yet so this isn't a beauty review but I will say just how much I love the wonder eye cream, rose flavoured body wash/cream and the moisturising oils and look forward to trying more as and when I run out of my current lotions and potions!

Amber bottles get me every time.

Being a natural skincare brand, a day at the Chelsea Flower Show felt like a good match as we went in search of all things botanical.

A walk around Chelsea is a must for the week of the flower show.

There are flowers everywhere and so many beautiful displays.

This year's Chelsea in Bloom theme was safari so all the streets had giant lions and giraffes all made out of flowers along the King's Road and around Sloane Square.

I love this leopard.

The cutest Giraffe.

Peonies everywhere 😍

It was my first time visiting the Ivy Chelsea Garden and already I'm dreaming of going back for a summery date night. The restaurant, food and setting were all amazing.

We had afternoon tea, my favourite.

Tiled floors and my new basket.

After eating all the sandwiches, scones and cakes we headed to the flower show. Side note, in previous years I've got tickets through my grandparents RHS membership to get in on a preview day but you can buy direct from the RHS website too. It's cheaper if you visit in an evening and then you can make an evening of it. We've never needed a full day there.

We started with the smaller artisan gardens. I'd love an orange tree in my garden! Somehow I don't think it would be warm enough in England.

Dreamy planting, foxgloves and alliums. Love the mirror too.

Roses from The Real Flower Company. Insane.

Then we made it round to the main show gardens. This is a little bold for me.

I'm more of a softer, cottage planting kind of girl.

I fell in love with all the greenhouses and this treehouse with a glass bottom {for a cool £75k}.

White everything. Yes please.

Foxgloves and roses all day long.

I love the show gardens but one of the highlights is always the show tent. Think of any kind of plant/flower and you'll find it here in abundance in the most perfect form. Strawberries just waiting to be picked, alliums standing to attention, even daffodils that must have been kept in the fridge. I made a beeline for the David Austin roses stand.

The scent, the blousy flowers, the colours. My Mum and I are heading to the David Austin garden in a couple of weeks so this got me super excited.

Love this photo of Chloe and I. How gorgeous is she?!

I didn't realise that there are so many different types of peonies.

Delphiniums always remind me of my Grandma.

Such a gorgeous day. A huge thank you to Balance Me Beauty.

Have you been before? Are you planning to next year? There's also the RHS Hampton Court flower show in a few weeks that's normally less packed than Chelsea and more spread out. Ben and I went for our anniversary a couple of years back.
