Christmas // Finding Unique Gifts {with Etsy Made Local}

November 26, 2017

I'm always, always on the lookout for unique gifts. I love the high-street of course {and you can see my Christmas gift guide here} but I always think it's nicer and more thoughtful if you've found something more handmade or a bit different. I've long scoured the internet looking for small businesses and quirky brands where you know that your sale will make a difference to the individual sellers who have often set up a small business from their home. It does make a huge difference to shop small and to shop locally from artisans with homemade or vintage wares.

Because of this, I've long been a fan of Etsy and have used their platform to buy from sellers all across the world {especially for our wedding and Christmas decorations!}. Etsy is really fab but what's even better are their Etsy Made Local marketplaces which will be popping up around the country between the 1st-3rd December this year bringing sellers offline and into their local communities. You can find your nearest one here. My Mum & I always earmark local Christmas markets to visit together so this year we're excited to go and find some new sellers. I love the fact that so much can be made bespoke for you too if you've got something specific in mind or something you'd want personalised.

Here are some items I've picked up from sellers who will be at the Etsy Made Local fairs this year. If you can't make it to the fair you can always shop online here too.

Fun, quirky textiles and illustrations from Katy Pillinger. I got this wall calendar and these colourful cards from her store.

Modern illustrations, home goods and stationery from Constance & Clay. I adore this weekly planner {and may have to keep it for myself!} but there are some great gift ideas on here too. Also love this. The gold heart card and the metallic Christmas cards are online here.

I bought this hand embroidered auricula intending it to be a gift for Ben's Grandma but now I'm thinking it looks so pretty on a shelf I may have to get another one?

And some other items I'm lusting over which would make for some fab gifts, there's everything from decorations to prints to jewellery to cushions to chunky knitted scarves!

Handmade Wrapping Paper.

Unique Christmas Decorations

Illustrated cards, prints and accessories. Some really lovely ideas for children's bedrooms.

Botanical Watercolour Prints
Fun Christmas Decs

Stylish knitted accessories for your home. Love these star cushions and that tassel garland

Woven wall art.
One of my favourite shops, personalised prints and great art for little ones.

Personalised ceramic and paper goods.
Will you be visiting any crafty Christmas fairs? You can find out more and find your nearest Etsy Made Local Event online here.
