Travel // Cabin Life at Soho Farmhouse, Oxfordshire
April 13, 2018
A few photos from our recent stay at Soho Farmhouse. It was a belated Birthday stay on Easter Monday & despite the rain {it literally rained that whole bank holiday weekend!} it was dreamy as always. Some of you might know that we're Soho House members now so we love spending time at Farmhouse fairly often but we never normally stay over so it's always an extra special treat to have our own cabin for a night.
You can see my past post on Farmhouse here {when we stayed for the first time back in 2016}.
We'd planned to combine it with a few stops in the Cotswolds but the weather was so bad we just stopped at Burford Garden Centre to start with before just getting to Farmhouse to cosy up and escape the rain!
It turned out to be a dry afternoon so we pedalled on these dreamy bikes. You can borrow bikes whenever you visit Farmhouse but you only get these special ones with your name tags when you stay overnight.
Cabin life! Little House on the Prairie from the outside yet in that serious Soho Home interior style we all love so much. They just get it so right?! Smart yet relaxed, country yet not twee. A log-burner, an outdoor bath, a cute kitchen area and all the Cowshed products you could ever wish for.
I always let the Birthday thing drag on for a week or more...
Farmyard fun. Bikes & milk floats. I love this place so much.
I was limited photo wise around the site {and in the public & indoor areas} so I can't show you our feast roast dinner, where you can have as much as you like, and proper puds in the Barn. Or our breakfast. I'm pretty much obsessed with all of the food at Soho House actually.
We watched a film {Whiskey Tango Foxtrot} that I'd wanted to watch for ages. And then the Island. You can't beat comfy hotel beds & gowns. I live for evenings like that.
We tried to counteract all the laziness/food feast of the past day with a morning in the gym & impressive indoor/outdoor pool, healthy-ish breakfast and then took some green juice away with us. It had been the Easter weekend so we'd eaten a million Easter eggs {& Birthday cake!}.
We breakfasted in the main Barn on the Tuesday morning but next time I definitely want to book the milk float that will come to your door and cook you breakfast in bed! We're hoping to book a yurt in the summer {especially on a Monday when everything is reduced rates for U27 members} but so far it looks fully booked! I think by the end of the year there will be some new pigsty accommodation too which sounds fun!
As always, one night goes by too quickly. But it was a real tonic and switch off nonetheless.
Until next time Farmhouse! I'm really looking forward to warm sunny days here, hopefully a whole summer ahead!
You can find booking details here, sometimes it's members only but a lot of the time if you email their reservations they can send you a non-member booking calendar.
