Happy Weekend {number 42}

October 21, 2016

{new shoes ready for London tonight. Find them online here. LOVE}
Friyay! This week has felt all kinds of autumnal. Finally, the leaves all starting to turn, the trees in full colour lit up against the sky along with pretty sunrises and another trip to the pumpkin farm.. Scenes from this week and a look at the weekend ahead below..

Last weekend in St Albans..

The Girl on the Train was good and a nice evening with the girls. But I still loved the book more.

Hydrangeas drying well from a few weeks back

Autumn walks at Ashridge last Sunday.

A fresh delivery of logs for toasty fires.

and candlelit evenings.

The prettiest sunrise on an early run this week.

Soggy autumn leaves, still pretty even in the rain

Still picking roses from the garden!

..that make for a pretty bedside posy.

Another trip to the pumpkin farm now they've all been picked. There were hundreds!

Hashtag I have this thing with pumpkins.

In love with this door.

This week's Freddie's Flowers delivery. Cabbages and roses.

Wish us luck in the Wedding Blog awards tonight!

And now onto the weekend. What do you have planned? I'm getting all dressed up and heading into London for the Wedding Blog awards this evening, SYGM is up for 5 awards in total including best honeymoons which is the section that I created. Keeping our fingers crossed! It should be a fun night either way and I'm looking forward to dinner with Ben in town beforehand. Tomorrow the weather looks good so I'm hoping we can enjoy the autumn sunshine before hosting a dinner party on Sunday. I'm going to make this chocolate and pear upside pudding, an old favourite.

We also received full planning permission {at long last!!} so I'll be talking about what's next and our plans for the house on here next week. I also feel like I should write a guide to battling the council with listed buildings haha.

Finally, I just wanted to say how grateful I am for all of your truly lovely comments and messages I've had this week after my Ask me Anything post. Everyone has been SO nice, so thank you. I love you all.

  1. Yes please to listed buildings and planning/listed building consent info! That would be AMAZING! Loving the influx of blog posts btw 😊
