Autumn in the Cotswolds, My Week in Photos and Happy Halloween Weekend {Number 43}

October 28, 2016

Hii, how are you? This week has escaped me. I mean, Friday already. Somebody pause time because it's going to be time to decorate for Christmas VERY soon. Ahhh. Anyway, embracing autumn now that the leaves are just hanging on I thought I'd share my week in photos below:

So starting from where I left off last Friday. Awards night!

New shoes got their first outing. Got all dressed up with Ben and we had an epic burrito in Wahaca {they now let you pimp your burrito} before heading to the Wedding Blog Awards. It was pretty, and we WON two awards! Cue mad smiles on stage with Gethin Jones who was hosting.

I'm proud to be part of an award winning team. So much love for So You're Getting Married, Phoebe and Emily.

On Saturday we had a lay-in {always heaven after a week of early starts}, breakfast in bed and then drove to the Cotswolds for the day.

We love heading out to the Cotswolds, about an hour from us, for lunch at Daylesford {an old fav} and a walk around pretty villages and Blenheim Palace.

The ultimate farm shop.

And lunch in the new barn. I just love Saturday's for long lunches and autumn walks with Ben. We really try not to schedule much at weekends anymore.

THE BEST cinnamon creme brûlée with apple compote.

Such a beautiful day.

Kingham. Adore!

We then headed to Woodstock for Blenheim and a walk around the crooked old market town.

Pumpkin fever.

On Sunday we had a 6 mile walk with my parents and the pup before a cake stop and a lazy afternoon.

That evening we lit alll the candles and the fire and had a sofa dinner party.

I cooked an autumnal risotto and my fav chocolate and pear caramel pudding.

This week has been the usual chores, catching up on emails, working from home, seeing friends {yay for half term to catch up with teachers} and sorting out the extension. We've had builders round and a million calls to archaeologists and the council.

The prettiest sunrise. Can't wait for the clocks to go back this weekend though for lighter mornings.

Autumn leaves.

On Wednesday I popped into London, as part of a press day for SYGM I had a £200 voucher to spend in Ted Baker that was going to expire next week! I mean.... HEART EYES. I bought 2 pairs of shoes with it in the end, thank youuu Ted Baker. And popped into Liberty quickly for a Christmas browse.

Thursday was a sad day but also the most beautiful funeral I've ever been to. There was a dove release at the end with the Coldplay song O. Wow, every funeral should finish like that. So symbolic and very emotional. But just so beautiful. I love the idea of setting a dove free to symbolise a final goodbye to a loved one. V sad circumstances but lovely to spend the day with old friends who I've grown up with.

And now Friday and the Halloween weekend! Ben's been off today as we've had builders come round to measure out for the extension. It all feels a lot more real now! I went for a walk with the pup and one of my oldest best friends this morning. Tonight I'm off to a Halloween party with the girls. Remember this one? Wearing my skeleton dress again.

I love the pumpkins around the village this week. We need to get round to carving ours! All the previous halloween posts here on pumpkin carving tips, here for halloween essentials and here.

Have a good one!
