Travel // The Ile de Re Part Two {2018 edition}

July 22, 2018

Part two of our trip to one of our favourite places in the world, the Ile de Re in France. You can find all the details of our trip in part one here.

Pink sunrise skies. The days were crazy long and I had a rare morning when I woke up before Ben and spent time reading my book and staring at this view.

Favourite street in St Martin

Another day, another bike ride.

French stripes.

Cycling through vineyards.

Hollyhock heaven. We get it.

Le Bois en Plage.

Beach days.

Followed by park afternoons when it got way too hot!

Wanted to buy ALLL of the baskets of course.

French harbour scenes. The little sailing boat.

Found a brocante!

French vintage heaven.

Oh yes! We binge watched a new Netflix series whilst we were out there, Manhunt Unabomber. SO good. And also so much World Cup fever.

Ars En Re

Having a whale of a time... {never gets old}

Secret beach walkways.

This was my favourite.

Ice cream eating spot.

Last day

The famous Ile de Re donkeys.

One last trip to La Flotte on our last morning

and then down to the bridge to complete the full island!

I think we must have cycled around 160km over those few days.

We had a picnic on the beach overlooking the bridge.

And then a few hours later, were going back over it to head to the airport.

Already planning our next trip there. Oh, Re!

  1. Okay - last comment, then I am definitely doing some work...
    I’ve been told I should visit Ile de Re, but have never found any tempting enough photos on t’internet to make me i have! Thanks for the insight, Rebecca. We always head to the south of France (childhood holiday memories are such a draw for me), but Ile de Re is much closer, so this is another destination for the bucket list...
    Keep up the good blog! :)

    1. ...Oh that was me - Mandy - again. I’ve come up as Unknown...not that it matters
