In the Morning We Can Build a Snowman...

January 28, 2015

After a couple of snow flurries last week it got me seriously wishing for a few real days of snow. The kind we used to have once a year, where you'd get up early to see if school was closed for the day and find your sledge before your hands and feet feel numb for the cold and you come inside for a hot chocolate. I was looking back through some photos from previous years, I think it was 2012 and 2013 where we had some real thick stuff to go and play in. Given that I should have started this blog a few years ago, I've got a backlog of my favourite photos to post, hence this post. Let's call this post Snowspiration and we'll pray for the snow gods to let us have some fun this year. Snowy photos, if you'd like to see -

Around this time two years ago in January we had some really heavy snow. I was in London at the time which was just sleety and drizzly being that bit warmer but coming home on the train I looked out the window to whiter and whiter scenes. When I got home, I grabbed the dog for a walk and some fun as the sun started to set and the sky turned an amazing colour. He loves running in the snow and chasing snowballs, I on the other hand love taking photos. Everything looks pretty when dusted with the white stuff.

Back in 2012, when we lived in Maida Vale, we walked to Primrose Hill excited to see London covered in snow for once. London rarely gets proper snow so it was a novelty to see red phone boxes with a white hat. Everyone was loving the sledging, it's probably one of the best places to visit in North London for sledging down a big hill.

And finally, some snowy walks in the countryside near us and at Ashridge -

Have you had lots of snow this year? Fingers crossed we'll get lots before this winter is out. Statistically it's more likely to snow at Easter than it is at Christmas!
