New Year, New Prints.. {plus a discount code}

January 09, 2017

Hola, Happy New Year! I hope you're not feeling too blue now everyone has to go back to normal and there's no more lazy days eating Christmas cheese on the sofa, sob. We've just got back from Cornwall, a tradition for us to start the year off somewhere in the UK and ease ourselves into January gently. Now that we're back, I want to throw myself into house projects again. We have SO much to get finished this year, the builders are back laying some blocks for the kitchen extension before it gets too cold at the end of the week and the spare room is on it's way to being decorated and the floors sanded soon. Today I want to talk about some new prints. Whilst it will still be a couple of months until we'll have walls ready to hang any pictures from, I like getting excited ahead of time and trying to map it all out. It's fun choosing new bits ready for when it's finished so that we won't have bare walls for too long. Swedish brand Desenio contacted me at the perfect time, their website is FULL of all the posters you could ever imagine and they are all such incredible value with prints starting at £2.50.

You'll almost be overwhelmed at both the amount and the amazing choices they have on offer. Everything from city maps to botanicals like ferns and palm leaves, to cool nautical anchors {love these} to kitchen butcher prints to on trend typographic quotes and fonts. I had such a hard time choosing my favourites for the new rooms because there was SO much that I loved on there. Although the beauty of them being such an inexpensive way of displaying art means you can buy extra to swap them around when you get bored I guess! In the end, this is what I've chosen so far, {let's call this round 1 if I can sneak some more in away from Ben's eye rolling!}:

I was meant to be choosing for the new kitchen/dining room and spare room but couldn't resist this cute little Chanel nail varnish print for my dressing table.

along with these black and white pretties, a trio of butterflies and bold lips.

For the kitchen, or dining room, I haven't decided which yet I want to create a gallery wall display so picked out some favourites that I could match together. I love palm leaves and with Pantone's colour of the year being greenery I thought they'd work well in either the kitchen with light walls or the dining room/snug with the dark F&B Downpipe walls. I've got these four for greenery which I can't wait to display.

along with a classic ampersand and LOVE print to mix in.

Until the rooms are ready, the prints are filling a gap at the top of the stairs. In fact I think I'll have to find something to replace them with when we hang them properly as they look so good on the landing. It was a blank space that needed something and I love how you can see them as you come in the front door as well as from the landing upstairs. The idea has always been to create a huge gallery wall going all the way up the stairs with family photos eventually.

{ignore our unfinished stairs, as soon as the spare room is finished we can finally fit carpet!}

In addition I love city prints so got two extra large smart looking New York and London posters which I think will go in the dining room/study.

And because I love flamingoes for fun {either in my office or the spare room} there's a pink flamingo which I framed in a white frame.

I bought all of the frames from Desenio to fit each sized print which again were great value for creating a big gallery wall. I was impressed with the quick delivery and the prints all came in a tube rolled up ready to frame without creases. If you're looking for some new prints you can use the discount code:

rvkloves25

for 25% off prints over the next two days. It's valid from the 10th-12th January at www.desenio.co.uk. Now the only hard part is choosing! I'm tempted with some more... Maybe this? Or this feather.

Oh and being a Scandi company they of course have SUCH enviable style for ways of displaying prints, there's SO much house inspo on their website

Have you got your eye on any? It's making me antsy for finishing the house at long last. Back with pics from Cornwall soon.

{This post was sponsored by Desenio but as always all opinions are 100% my own. I would never promote something that I didn't truly love because it's no fun for you or me.}
