Wandering around Hampstead...

April 14, 2015

On Easter Monday, the sun was shining and it hit 17 degrees! The first hot day of the year, the rest of last week was also beautiful. Ben and I headed to Hampstead for a walk and some lunch. It's one of our favourite places to visit and reminds us of when we lived in London for a couple of years - we'd come to Hampstead for a walk most weekends. It's amazing that you're within London yet feels so like a village with miles of heath to walk across. The high street has everything you could want with cute bakeries, nice restaurants and upmarket shops and then there are the surrounding streets. House porn heaven. The whole area was filled with magnolia blossom last weekend and Kenwood House, on the heath was spectacular. Another bonus is that you can park for free at weekends nearly everywhere, have a nice walk with views over the city, get a coffee or some lunch then head home or go into central London. Here are a few photos, if you'd like to see -

Springtime is the best isn't it. Blossom is the trees way of celebrating that Winter is over!!

Have you been to Hampstead Heath before? It's full of ponds {some you can swim in!}, Parliament Hill with views over the city, Kenwood House {the big white house above} with beautiful grounds, woodland and big open heath land to explore. We find new routes every time we visit. Highgate is to the East, Kentish Town to the South and Hampstead to the West. We've explored them all. It's lovely to park in Highgate and then do a circular walk across the heath to Hampstead and back.

{Overdressed for the warm weather, rookie mistake..}

My favourite house...

Love this so much, the beautiful houses, the white fence, blue sky and magnolia blossom.

Can never resist a visit to Gails bakery on the high street...

The perfect place for a weekend wander. There's always lots going on and things to swoon over. Houses, blossom, shops, gelato. Happy Hampstead days indeed.

Let me know if you're going, it's gorgeous in the summer. So close to London yet it feels a world away.
