Summer // The Chelsea Flower Show 2018 {with Joules Clothing}

I'm sure you know what a huge fan of Chelsea Flower Show I am after these past posts? Last week I was lucky enough to be invited with Joules for the day and I thought I'd share a few photos, and some of the gardens which inspired me this year.
It was such a treat in itself to be invited, but Joules then surprised us by taking us to lunch at The Ivy Chelsea Garden first to meet everybody {there were 8 of us total including Holly, my favourite ever PR who I got on so well with down in Cornwall earlier this year} and asked if we'd like an outfit to wear for the day! I chose this dress and these shoes {which I pretty much haven't taken off ever since, they're so comfy and summery} which felt just the part for Chelsea.
I got to Chelsea a little early to have a wander around the Chelsea in Bloom festival, where all the shops around Sloane Square decorated with flowers. But the surrounding streets were just as pretty covered in roses at this time of year. I always forget just how gorgeous it is around that area of London.
We were sat next to Holly Willoughby on the table next to us... no big deal.
A group of gorgeous women and the most delicious food. The halloumi salad mixed with the fried courgettes that we all shared was insanely good.
And the Ivy is always so beautifully decorated. After our long lunch we headed to the Royal Hospital for the show.
First stop was the Joules stand which was extra flowery this year. Their prints just scream summer with florals and stripes.

The show felt busier than ever. But I also thought the flowers were the best I'd seen for a few years. How adorable was this Citroen Gin truck?!
This South African inspired Trailfinders Garden was my favourite show garden this year.
The planting! The roses, the foxgloves, alliums and that adorable house.
But this was amazing in a different way, a trail of lupins leading the eye down through rusty metal sculptures.
I got so much inspiration from the planting schemes all around at Chelsea.
These aren't my favourite colours but they looked so gorgeous together, and reminded me of my Auntie. We'd been in Sardinia until late the night before so I hadn't caught any of the press coverage on the RHS show this year, meaning I loved seeing it even more when I got there.
I guess I missed out on the stories and inspiration behind the show gardens though.
In the show tent, or is it called the pavillion?, David Austin roses were my favourite as always.
The scent of an English rose when you catch it for the first time in a while is heaven.
I spotted Monty Don! Who looked a little more dinosaur like in person. Not in a mean way, just I didn't expect him to be so hunched and old looking in real life? LOVE him nonetheless and wish I could have caught him to say hi.
M&S had a flower stall this year which I think was one of the most impressive sections I saw with the most perfect blooms all lined up. Be still my beating heart... these peonies!
Apparently lupins are in this year and wild planting is out. Although I still spotted lots of pretty cow parsley and wild fennel dotted around. What a day! Looking forward to seeing our own garden in bloom over the next few weeks, the roses have just started coming out! Will share some more photos of our garden soon.
